WEST END BARES: CHRIS JEFFERS
WEST END BARES, the hottest theatrical fundraiser of the year, that benefits the Make A Difference Trust, is back once again for 2017 with two shows on Sunday 29 October at 7.00pm and 9.30pm. You’ll find this year’s show in the beautiful Novello Theatre in the heart of the West End. Venturing into the land of OZ for this year’s performances, Ruby Strippers, promises to be full of fun and naughtiness. Going from strength to strength every year, there really is no place like Bares! Collaborating once again with the West End Bares team ahead of the show next weekend, we got some of this year’s stars in for a photo shoot and answering some questions all about this year’s offerings and what we can expect.
At twenty nine years old Chris Jeffers (CJ) has a wealth of experience working as a dancer, actor and model. Life is constantly changing for CJ at the moment, moving between sets, shooting campaigns and writing, amongst other things. This is CJ’s first West End Bares however, and his first time taking part in anything like it. Taking time out of his busy schedule, CJ got a taste of what bares might be like as he took his clothes of on set and gave us all an insight into what he’ll be doing in the show and what makes him want to be part of the show for the first time.
So talk us through a typical day in the life for you right now?
To be honest everyday is so different at the minute, that’s why I’m enjoying life so much! I’m extremely busy working on different projects and campaigns at the moment so you’ll usually find me in a rehearsal studio or on set shooting or writing in cafes in between castings.
So for those of us who don’t know, start by telling us a little about West End Bares and what does it mean to you?
Well it’s all about having fun and raising money for a great cause! The ‘Make a difference trust’ is brilliant and I feel privileged to be able to join them for West End Bares.
So what made you want to be part of the West End Bares experience?
I think the cause is the main reason! I feel it’s so important that we keep working towards peace and love and are always supporting those who need it! It’s a tough world so anything one can do to make a positive change in the world is an incredible feat.
As a performer there are obviously times when you have to show off your body, is that something that feels natural to you or are you nervous to bare all on stage?
I’m used to being naked in the changing room or on set between outfit changes so I think I can handle it alright. Everybody has their insecurities so I’ll just have to put them aside when it comes to the night.
Have you been doing anything special to prepare for the show?
I’ve been trying to get my ass to the gym as much as possible but due to work… that’s been near to impossible.
Have you been involved in anything like West End Bares before and what was that like?
I haven’t so it’s really exciting to be taking part this year.
Can you tell us anything about your performance(s) in the show? Anything you can share about the numbers you’re involved in?
Haha I think a lot of it is hush hush until the night but I’ll be dancing in Ashley Packer’s number.
What excites you most about being part of the bares experience?
Sharing the stage with friends and colleagues for a truly unique event.
Why should people come see the show, apart from helping such a great cause?
It’s going to be a lot of fun!
